rename sql

I need to rename a brand-new build of a Win2003/SQL2k box. I know with
SQL2k that renaming is essentially a snap, and I know how to do it. But my
question is this: should I rename it, or should I; uninstall sql, rename the
box and then reinstall sql? I don't want to have any potential issues in
the future, and I have the time to reinstall if that's the best solution.
Thanks, AndreHi, Andre
