Removing replication while db in use?

Hello,
Can you remove replication while the publisher to be
removed is in use or will that cause problems?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

yes, you can do this through tools - replication - configure publishers,
subscribers, and distributor, click on the published databases, and clear
the merge or transactional check boxes.
